Basketball is something I use to really love.
Today I was suppose to go to work, later on they said they didn’t need me anymore. What was I gonna do on my spontaneous day off? I had the sudden urge to go play basketball. So I searched my house looking for a basketball. Couldn’t find any of them. I asked my parents. They couldn’t find them either. This could only mean one thing… They gave away them all away. I was upset. How can they give away something they knew I loved? Then it hit me, I haven’t picked up a basketball in for a while. I neglected it for too long, to the point where my parents thought I was no longer interested in it. So I went to a sports store and bought a basketball. And I went to a basketball court to shoot some hoops for a few hours. And I realized I missed everything about it. The sound the ball makes when it hits the floor, the sound your shoes makes, the sound of the ball hitting the rim and the net, the random pick up games- and well you get the point. I’m happy I decided to play some ball today. From now on, I’m going to leave my basketball in my trunk so whenever I’m free I’ll make more of an effort to go ball.
Have you neglected something you use to love? Go back to it, maybe you’ll remember why you loved it so much.
